This weekend consisted of friends, fun, food and a whole load of wannabe circus freaks – AKA my weird friends. As mentioned in my previous blog post, twenty three of us flocked to Chesterfield to celebrate the brief return of Our Natty, for a wholesome (ahem) weekend in a phat-cottage.
Hagg Hill Hall is situated in the picturesque Chesterfield countryside, it dates back to the early 1600s and set in the heart of a farming hamlet – the perfect setting for our circus themed weekend of marra-debauchery. The hall is full of historical character, interesting features, huge decorative fireplaces, a dining room fit for a king, windy staircases, four poster beds, a hot tub, and our big subwoofer (“What the bloody ‘ell is that”)
Friday evening (the “warm up”) was filled with home-cooked food, a whole load of booze and dancing until the sun came up to (mainly) 90s music – followed by a day of snoozing and hardcore recovering. Saturday night however (the “main event”) was when the freaks came out. Beautiful weird friends, plenty of makeup and face paint (by moi, Fancy Pants Face Painting), crazy costumes, and Take II of the previous evening.
How are we meant to come back down to earth from that. Amazing weekend, with some really NICE people.
Love you all a LOT, and Natty, we’re really going to miss you xxx

Fancy Pants Face Painting made an appearance at our very first wedding this weekend. The reception was held at Jack Spratt in Manchester, just off Deansgate. The venue looked beautiful, it was a perfect setting! Massive congratulations to Libbie and Tom, and a huge thank you for letting us go crazy with the glitter and gold leaf.
I think I’m a little bit addicted to using gold leaf on your lovely faces. But at only £5 a pop for a tub, who cares! To apply, I sparingly used body glue, then applied the god leaf flakes using tweezers. Et, voila!
Here’s some photos of the evening, courtesty of Andrea Callan.
